The New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Level 2) - Sustainable Horticulture at NMIT offers a practical introduction to the fundamentals of sustainable horticulture. Students gain hands-on experience in growing and caring for plants, soil science, composting, weed and pest management, and sustainable growing techniques. The programme includes native plant propagation, restoration planting, and ecological principles of land management, preparing graduates to contribute to community gardens, environmental projects, or horticultural careers.

Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 12 weeks

Use propagation techniques, including native plant propagation from seeds, and provide appropriate care for a range of plant species.
