Learn plant science, ecology, taxonomy, common turf species, and approaches for recognising and managing pests and diseases.

Gain knowledge of soil properties, water behaviour, and sustainable management of soil and water in sports turf contexts.
This 18-month full-time programme delivers comprehensive training in sports turf management—the only full-time qualification of its kind in New Zealand. You will study topics such as soil science, plant health, turf construction, machinery maintenance, irrigation, and staff supervision, then complete a paid work placement at a top sports venue. Graduates are well regarded in the industry, often securing employment offers during their placement.
