The Mahinga Kai course empowers learners to reconnect with whenua, waterways, and cultural practices that have sustained communities for generations. The programme explores principles of kai sovereignty, environmental stewardship, and cultural wellbeing through practical learning, providing skills in traditional food growing and harvesting, sustainable resource management, and the interconnection between people and the environment. It is designed for adult learners, rangatahi, whānau, and community members who wish to deepen their connection to te ao Māori, strengthen environmental knowledge, and contribute to local food resilience.

Entry Requirements
Applicants for whom English or te reo Māori is not a first language must provide evidence of English language proficiency.
