What You're Signing Up For
The Graduate Diploma in Health Science is designed for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and wish to specialise or broaden their knowledge in health science. Students can tailor their learning from diverse courses in Health Science or Sport, Exercise and Health, with pathways available in addiction studies, psychology, renal physiology, lived experience practice, and other relevant fields. The programme is suitable as a bridge for postgraduate study or for professionals seeking recognised qualification in health.
Course Content
- Choice of eight 15-point approved undergraduate courses (at least five at level 7)
- Addiction practice: Theories and principles, assessment and intervention, recovery and wellbeing
- Māori health promotion
- Peer support and lived experience practice
- Professional practice and ethics
- Mental health, abnormal and social psychology
- Renal science, health law and policy
- Human rights and diversity
- Electives from Bachelor of Health Science or Bachelor of Sport, Exercise and Health
