The Master of Health Science at AUT is designed for graduates from diverse health backgrounds who wish to deepen their scholarly and professional knowledge through research and coursework. The programme offers multiple specialisations—such as advanced nursing practice, podiatry, psychology, human factors and ergonomics, neurological rehabilitation, occupational health, and sport and exercise physiotherapy—or a standard flexible pathway. Students gain interprofessional experience and develop research capabilities, preparing them for advancement in clinical or academic health roles.

Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
North Campus, Auckland
It will take a total of 2 years

Undertake original research leading to a thesis, dissertation, or research project within the scope of health science.
Graduate Diploma in Health Science with a B grade average or higher, or equivalent
Staircasing from the Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science possible
Evidence of an acceptable undergraduate research course or equivalent
Possible requirement to provide evidence of current professional practice
May require an interview
Compliance with Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act and the Children’s Act 2014, and other relevant legislation
For psychology specialisation: references, police vetting, and selection interview
