Support people, family, and whānau to achieve their goals in a peer support context.

Demonstrate understanding of the evolution and roles of peer work and current peer practices in Aotearoa.
This well-supported apprenticeship provides specific skills and knowledge for those working in peer support roles. Apprentices will build on their lived experiences to support individuals with health challenges, fostering greater autonomy, wellbeing, and self-determination. The programme develops competencies in self-awareness, reflective practice, and establishing purpose-driven supportive relationships, alongside an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, kawa, and tikanga, ensuring culturally responsive support in Aotearoa. Apprentices will receive on-job learning, supported pastoral care, and have access to an online learning platform.
