What You're Signing Up For
The New Zealand Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (Level 5) Applied Practice is designed to qualify advanced support workers responsible for developing and managing care plans, contributing to continuous improvement, and applying modern health theories and approaches. Learners gain hands-on experience (minimum 200 hours) and demonstrate client-centred competencies tailored to sector specialisation, such as mental health, trauma-informed care, public housing, youth, and more. The programme is not suitable for the aged care sector.

- Sector-specific specialisations such as mental health, disability support, community & public housing, financial mentoring, trauma-informed education, youth support, whānau support, addiction, and reintegration
- Development, implementation, and review of support plans
- Cultural competency and understanding developments in Aotearoa
What you need to know first
Preferred: Relevant Level 4 qualification OR equivalent sector experience, knowledge, and skill at required level.
