Develop foundational knowledge in health promotion principles and practices to support community wellbeing.

Gain understanding of social, economic, and environmental factors affecting health and strategies to improve health equity.
The Certificate in Health (CertHlth) prepares you with the skills and knowledge to make a positive contribution to the wellbeing of your community through health promotion. Learn how the circumstances in which people live, work, and play affect their health, and how to create environments that support New Zealanders to live long and healthy lives regardless of their income or ethnicity. The Certificate consists of four courses (60 points) including compulsory courses in health promotion and elective courses on health topics. It can be completed full-time in six months or part-time up to three years, with options to transfer completed courses to diploma or bachelor's degree programs in health. Career pathways include health promoter, wellbeing coordinator, community health worker, and health educator.
