What You're Signing Up For
The Certificate in Languages (CertLang) allows students to study one or two foreign languages, either alongside another degree or as a standalone part-time program. Courses are available for both beginners and students with prior language knowledge. This programme enhances cultural understanding and global awareness, provides career and further study benefits, and is highly flexible in structure.
Course Content
- Study one or two foreign languages (choices include Chinese, Cook Islands Maori, Egyptian, French, German, Ancient Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Māori, Samoan, Spanish, Tongan)
- Programme consists of four 15-point language courses (two must be above Stage I)
- Assessment of language competence to determine entry level
- Flexible study structure—program may be taken alongside another degree or part-time
- Some language courses may count towards another programme (including General Education courses)
