The programme offers flexibility, enabling students to choose areas of specialisation relevant to their interests or professional requirements, and supports continuing professional development. The certificate also helps overseas practitioners meet eligibility for practice in New Zealand, subject to external assessment.
Course Content
- 60 points of law courses from LLB Parts II, III, and IV
- Option to substitute up to 30 points from Master of Laws (LLM) programme, with approval
- Mandatory Legal Research Methodology (LAW 700) if choosing LLM courses
- Potential to include a relevant Stage II or higher course from other programmes at the university (with approval)
- Focus on specialisation or professional development areas in law
