About This Course
Build the maths skills and confidence you need to take the next step into your study journey. This free bridging course is designed to help you move into higher-level courses, with a focus on pathways into engineering and the built environment (though not limited to these areas). If you have not completed NCEA Level 2 maths or have not studied maths for some time, this course provides the maths foundation needed for higher-level study. Students who complete the course report feeling more confident and ready to succeed in higher-level education.
Course Content
- Percentages
- Factorising (finding factors and multiples of whole numbers)
- Fraction arithmetic (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing)
- Right triangle trigonometry (sine, cosine, tangent, pythagorean theorem)
- Solving 1-step equations
Entry Requirements
If you have not completed NCEA Level 2 maths or have not studied maths for some time, you may benefit from this course.
Admission, entry, selection, and enrolment into programmes will be in accordance with the Academic Regulations and/or, where approved, specific programme regulations.
