What You're Signing Up For

This one-year full-time NZQA Level 3 certificate programme provides practical and theoretical training in automotive engineering. With a strong emphasis on workshop safety and real-world experience, students cover a broad range of essential automotive systems, preparing them to move directly into apprenticeships or technician roles across cars, trucks, machinery, motorcycles, marine, or automotive electrical fields. Graduates gain supervised experience through local work placements and can progress to further trade qualifications.

What you need to know first

Meet the NCEA Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy requirements, or provide evidence of achievement at equivalent level.

OR Successful completion of NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills (Automotive and Engineering) [Level 2] and alternative academic entry test.

OR Successful interview with academic staff and completion of alternative academic entry test.

English language proficiency (e.g. IELTS 5.5 Academic with no band lower than 5.5, New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 3, or equivalent).
