- Automotive workshop safety, tools, and equipment
- Safe working practices and handling hazardous materials
- Automotive engines and driveline systems: petrol and diesel engines, transmission, cooling systems, lubrication, air-conditioning, clutches, intake and exhaust systems
- Automotive electrical and electronic systems: ignition, electronic fuel injection, batteries, hybrid and electric vehicles, charging and starting systems, airbags and seat belts, diesel injection
- Automotive brakes: hydraulic and air brakes, brake system components, maintenance and repair
- Steering and suspension systems: components, manual and power-assisted systems, wheel alignments, suspension and control arms
- Literacy and numeracy assessments (as required)
