The New Zealand Certificate in Bicycle Mechanics (Level 4) is designed for those looking to build on existing bicycle servicing skills or prior industry experience. This 17-week (full-time) or one-year (part-time) programme focuses on advanced mechanical techniques such as wheel building, suspension servicing, e-bike diagnostics, and frame preparation. Students benefit from blended delivery - online coursework, hands-on block courses at Cromwell Campus, and significant work-based learning. Graduates will be equipped for senior mechanic roles across the bicycle industry, or can operate independently in workshops, consultancy or tourism. The course emphasises safety, customer engagement, technical proficiency, and custom bicycle design.
