Safely and effectively diagnose and repair faults that commonly occur in light vehicles, including cars, light commercial vehicles, and light trailers.

Develop essential technical and practical skills required to work in a variety of motor industry roles.
This qualification prepares learners for a career as a Qualified Automotive Technician working with light vehicles, including cars, light commercial vehicles, and light trailers. The two-year part-time programme teaches you to safely and effectively diagnose and repair common faults, and is delivered alongside an apprenticeship. Graduates can continue to more advanced study or senior workshop positions.
Entry Requirements
Level 3 Automotive Engineering qualification OR evidence of equivalent skills and knowledge.

For managed apprentice option: Must be employed in a light automotive engineering workshop at a commercially-acceptable industry standard; training agreement between apprentice, employer, and provider required.
Recommended: Current workplace first aid certificate before enrolment; Class 1 licence before programme completion.
