Ara Institute of Canterbury’s Bachelor of Broadcasting Communications (Journalism) is a three-year, practical, and industry-focused programme designed to prepare students for a career in newsrooms as journalists, reporters, digital editors, presenters, producers, or researchers. Students spend two years in immersive, on-campus learning and a third year working in the industry, including a 24-week internship. The course covers news story creation, factual storytelling, media law, group and independent media projects, and elective options like photography and videography. Graduates are highly employable within New Zealand and internationally.
