In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 6 months

Successfully complete and pass four standard courses at 100 or 200-level in selected arts subjects.

Gain introductory to intermediate knowledge and skills in up to two subject areas within the arts, humanities, or social sciences.

Develop academic competence and credits that can be transferred towards the Diploma in Arts, Bachelor of Arts, or other relevant qualifications.
The Certificate in Arts (CertArts) at the University of Canterbury is designed for students to study at university level without a long-term commitment. It provides an option for students to take four courses (60 points) at the 100 and/or 200-level in up to two subject areas across the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The programme can be completed full-time in 6 months or part-time over five years, and serves as a pathway to further study in the Diploma in Arts or Bachelor of Arts, with the ability to transfer credits.
