What You're Signing Up For
The Certificate in Arts (CertArts) at the University of Canterbury is designed for students to study at university level without a long-term commitment. It provides an option for students to take four courses (60 points) at the 100 and/or 200-level in up to two subject areas across the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The programme can be completed full-time in 6 months or part-time over five years, and serves as a pathway to further study in the Diploma in Arts or Bachelor of Arts, with the ability to transfer credits.

- Choose four courses (60 points) at 100- or 200-level from up to two subject areas offered in the Bachelor of Arts.
- Subject options include Anthropology, Art History and Theory, Chinese, Cinema Studies, Classics, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities, Economics, Education, English, European & European Union Studies, French, Geography, German, History, Human Services, Japanese, Linguistics, Māori and Indigenous Studies, Mathematics, Media and Communication, Music, Philosophy, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Russian, Sociology, Spanish, Statistics, Te Reo Māori.
- Involvement in field trips, real-world case studies, and projects, depending on selected courses.
