The Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5) prepares students to become Enrolled Nurses, able to work safely and competently under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse or other health practitioner. The programme takes 18 months full-time and includes over 900 hours of clinical and simulation-based training. Students develop skills in direct patient care, medication administration, culturally safe practice, teamwork, and communication, with learning grounded in models such as Te Whare Tapa Whā and the Hui Process. Successful completion allows graduates to sit the State Final Examination for Enrolled Nurse registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2 with at least 80 credits (including 12 credits in Level 1 Mathematics, 10 in Level 1 English, and 58 at Level 2 or above in English, Mathematics, Science related subject, and one other).
