About This Course

This 1.5-year, full-time diploma prepares graduates to become Enrolled Nurses, equipping them with knowledge in nursing practice, human anatomy and physiology, cultural safety, communication, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and legal and ethical responsibilities. The programme combines simulated on-campus learning with extensive clinical placement across community, rehabilitation, acute, and mental health settings. Completion qualifies graduates to sit the Nursing Council of New Zealand state final exam to gain professional registration as an Enrolled Nurse.

Entry Requirements

NCEA Level 2 with 10 credits in Level 1 Mathematics or Numeracy, and 12 credits in Level 2 Science rich subjects OR

New Zealand Certificate in Study and Employment Pathways (Level 3), Health and Science Pathway, or a recognised equivalent (Bridging or Pre-Health)

Alternative entry for applicants with suitable skills as determined by the Programme Manager

Two written references (one personal, one from school or most recent employer, not family or friends)

Current comprehensive first aid certificate

Evidence of immunity as required by the Department of Nursing and clinical partners

Declaration of physical and mental health status from a GP or Practice Nurse

Police vetting as part of the application process

English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 Academic (no bands lower than 6.5, single report form) or OET C+ minimum across all bands in one sitting
