Graduates will be prepared to meet Nursing Council of New Zealand requirements and apply for registration as a Nurse in New Zealand.

The Graduate Diploma in Nursing Pacific supports Pacific-trained nurses to complete a recognised nursing qualification and achieve registration as a nurse in New Zealand. The programme combines Pacific pedagogies, understanding of Pacific and New Zealand health contexts, and practical clinical experience. Students integrate cultural competencies, advance professional identity, and undertake significant clinical placements. The course addresses the need for more Pacific nurses and aligns with NZ government objectives to improve Pacific health and education outcomes.

Diploma of Nursing (Level 5) or Bachelor of Nursing (Level 7) from a Pacific nation
At least 2 years full-time equivalent work experience as a registered nurse in home country
At least 2 years' work experience in New Zealand health sector
Interview for suitability
Health screening, safety check, police vetting, and referee reports
Develop strong professional self-identity and leadership capabilities within a nursing context.
