Graduates are eligible to apply to the Nursing Council of New Zealand to sit the registration exam for Enrolled Nurses.

Learn and apply clinical skills in simulations and supervised placements across rehabilitation, acute care, and mental health settings.

The Enrolled Nursing (Nēhi Whakauru) programme leads to the New Zealand Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (Level 5). Students will build capabilities in nursing, social science, and human biology theory, develop practical skills in laboratory and clinical settings, and graduate ready to seek registration as an Enrolled Nurse in New Zealand. The course includes hands-on placements in acute, rehabilitative, and mental health settings, and offers a dedicated Māori and Pacific support stream.

Literacy: 10 credits at NCEA Level 1 or above in specified literacy assessment standards
Numeracy: 12 credits at NCEA Level 1 or above in specified numeracy assessment standards
Equivalent qualifications accepted
Special admission for domestic applicants aged 20+ who do not meet general criteria but have relevant skills, education or experience (at the discretion of the Centre Director)
Provisional entry for domestic applicants under 20 with suitable educational attainment or life experience (case-by-case)
Completion of Wintec application form, self-declaration of criminal convictions and of physical/mental conditions
Current Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (NZQA units 6400, 6401, 6402) before clinical placement
Written health and immunity status before clinical placement
Pass safety checks as per Vulnerable Children Act 2014 (including interview, referee checks, police vet, risk assessment)
English language: IELTS Academic 6.5 in all bands or equivalent (for ESL/international applicants)
