Demonstrate proficient use of various types of portable fire extinguishers and nozzles in maritime settings.

Safely extinguish small and extensive fires, including electrical, oil, propane, and oil fires, using appropriate extinguishing agents and techniques.
This 1.5-day short course is for holders of STCW Certificates of Competency, such as Master, Mate, Deck Officer, Marine Engineer Officer, or Able Seafarer, who require refresher training in fire prevention and fire fighting as per international maritime regulations (Section A-VI/1-2 of STCW 1978, as amended). The course ensures learners can maintain competency in preventing and fighting fires aboard ships using industry-standard techniques and equipment.
What you need to know first
Current medical examination certificate issued by an approved General Practitioner (e.g. Seafarers Medical or equivalent)
Evidence of an STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting course certificate
