Be able to correctly don an immersion suit and use it effectively for survival at sea.
Safely jump from a height into water
Demonstrate the proper technique for safely entering water from height, as required in maritime emergencies.
What You're Signing Up For
This course is designed for holders of the STCW Personal Survival Techniques Certificate who require refresher training to maintain their competencies as required by international maritime regulations. The program enables students to update and demonstrate skills in personal survival, specifically per Section A-VI/1-1 of the STCW convention. Topics include lifejacket use, immersion suits, survival swimming, and liferaft inversion procedures. Successful completion results in a Personal Survival Techniques Refresher certificate, with courses scheduled conveniently for those also taking the Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting refresher.

- Procedures for safely jumping into water from a height
- Righting an inverted liferaft while wearing a lifejacket
- Swimming techniques while wearing a lifejacket
- Keeping afloat without a lifejacket

Evidence of an STCW Personal Survival Techniques Certificate
A record of on-board training, drills, or experience, or equivalent documentation proving competence has been maintained in the previous 5 years
