- Engineering and Society: Sustainable development, data analysis, systems thinking, Treaty of Waitangi.
- Foundations of Engineering: Design process, CAD, engineering analysis, economics, design-build-test.
- Engineering Mathematics: Algebra, calculus, modelling, statistics, ordinary differential equations.
- Engineering Computing: Programming (MATLAB, Python).
- Materials Science: Metals, polymers, ceramics, mechanics, corrosion, polymers, cement and concrete.
- Business in Engineering: Teamwork, project management, Lean Canvas, agile, professional ethics.
- Work Placements (800 hours): Industry experience over two placements.
- Sustainability and Environment in Engineering: Environmental impact, renewable energy, risk and resilience.
- Professionalism & Ethics: Leadership, project management, law, intellectual property, communication.
- Final Honours Research & Development Project (capstone).
- Electives and stream/major-specific advanced courses.
