- Core courses covering transferable skills, science and society
- Natural sciences, mathematics and computer science foundational courses
- Choice of majors: Analytics, Biological Science, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science, Marine Science, Mathematical Modelling and Computation
- Year 3 capstone project in chosen major
- Flexible components: minors, second major, or elective courses (including outside science)
- Integration of mātauranga Māori
- Laboratory and fieldwork experience
