Weekend Warriors is New Zealand’s ultimate music programme for adults looking to experience playing in a band, improve their musical skills, and have fun in a supportive, group environment. No matter your background, this 8 week face-to-face course places you with a band of similar skill level, guided by a professional tutor and culminating in a live gig performance. All musicians are welcome; join to gain band experience, make new friends, and live the dream of performing.
Course Content
- Forming a band based on instrument, ability, and musical taste
- Weekly rehearsals (1.5 hours per week)
- Home practice
- Song selection (4-8 songs)
- Mentored rehearsal process
- Preparation for live gig performance
- Live gig at a local venue
- Video recording of the performance
