Gain in-depth understanding of the principles, concepts, and ideas that define community dance theory and practice.
The Master of Community Dance activates the role of dance in interrogating local and international societal concerns such as sustainability, cultural diversity, equity, and peace. Through self-directed research supported by internationally renowned staff, students gain advanced knowledge in community dance theory and practice, aiming to produce a 35,000-40,000 word thesis. The programme is part of a dual masters partnership with Beijing Dance Academy and is designed to develop employable skills for community engagement, academia, and leadership in dance-related initiatives.
