Learn to provide psychological services that prioritise cultural safety and bicultural competence, particularly with respect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (or equivalent)
Master’s degree in Psychology with at least a 90-credit thesis and minimum B+ average (or approved Doctoral degree in Psychology with minimum B+ average)
Successful completion of at least 90 credits of approved postgraduate coursework (for Master’s applicants)
Secured internship in a workplace with engagement in psychologically-based practice in New Zealand
Approved supervision in the field from a NZ registered psychologist (based at the host agency)
Registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board in the Intern Psychologist Scope of Practice
Selection process, including interview and referee reports
Completed and verified documentation (e.g. academic transcripts, CV, identity documents, supplementary essays)
Police clearance checks (if resided overseas over past 5 years)
If applicable: English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.5 with no band lower than 7.0
