What You're Signing Up For
The Foundation Certificate (International) – FCert(Int) is designed for international students who do not meet direct entry requirements for undergraduate programmes. It develops English language proficiency, academic literacies, and foundational knowledge across a choice of business or science pathways. Students complete core and elective academic courses in a supportive environment and, on successful completion, gain guaranteed entry to unrestricted undergraduate degrees at Massey University.
Course Content
- Academic English: Academic and non-academic text analysis, reading, writing, listening, speaking, ICT skills
- Information Technology for Academic Studies: Using technology for study, problem-solving with technology
- Introduction to Academic Communications: Oral and written skills for tertiary study, research and presentation skills
- Socio-cultural Context of Aotearoa New Zealand: Culture, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, society and business context
- Business Pathway: Accounting Fundamentals, Economics Fundamentals, Management Fundamentals, General Mathematics
- Science Pathway: Biology Fundamentals, Chemistry Fundamentals, Mathematics Fundamentals, Physics Fundamentals
