Understand and articulate the intrinsic mana that a young person possesses and how youth work principles can enhance this mana.

Apply Mana Taiohi principles while interacting with young people in youth work settings, as evidenced by practical observation.
This unit standard is designed for people working with young people in the youth development sector. It covers the principles of Mana Taiohi, a Te Ao Māori-informed framework used to enhance the mana of youth in Aotearoa. Through both theory and practical assessment, learners describe and demonstrate these principles in real youth work situations. The standard replaces an earlier unit and will form part of future qualification programmes in youth work.
