Develop competence in bicultural social work and partnership with Māori, essential for Aotearoa New Zealand’s social sector.
The Master of Social Work (Professional) is designed for graduates from diverse backgrounds who want to pursue a career as a professional social worker. Over two years, students develop advanced knowledge and skills for bicultural social work practice, leadership, and social sector engagement across a wide range of settings. This hands-on programme includes supervised practicum placements in the community and prepares graduates for registration as a social worker in accordance with both New Zealand and international requirements. It offers strong professional development and a pathway to doctoral study.
