Critically evaluate and apply methodologies appropriate for research within Māori communities, including working with public repositories, online data, and designing research with an understanding of tikanga and ethics.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Māori Studies (PGDipMāoriS) is a one-year full-time (120 credits, NZQF Level 8) programme providing advanced study in areas central to te ao Māori, including Māori language, research methodologies, development, health, education policy, technology, astronomy, leadership, and literature. It equips graduates with the skills to critically engage Māori and indigenous knowledge systems, analyse and apply research appropriate to Māori contexts, and foster positive contributions to Māori society and development. The qualification is open to domestic and international students (online), and offers distance and flexible online study.
What you need to know first
Relevant bachelor's degree with at least a B grade average across the 200-300 level specialisation courses, or equivalent.
