The Bachelor of Arts (BA) at the University of Auckland allows students to explore society, people and culture through a wide range of subjects. With flexibility to choose two majors and optional theme-based modules, students can tailor their degree to align with their interests and career aspirations. The BA provides students with highly valued skills such as communication, creative and critical thinking, research and analysis, and adaptability, preparing them for emerging career opportunities. The programme also offers a range of conjoint options, allowing students to combine their BA with another undergraduate degree.
Course Content
- 24 courses across 3 years (360 points)
- Selection of two BA subjects as majors
- Eight courses in each major
- Two General Education courses
- Six elective courses (up to two outside BA schedule)
- Optional theme-based modules (group of three courses focused on specific skills or knowledge)
- Conjoint programme options with Commerce, Communication, Fine Arts, Engineering, Global Studies, Laws, Music, or Science
- General Education requirements, including recommendation to take WTRAED 100 (Waipapa Taumata Rau: Introduction to Te Pūtahi Mātauranga, Arts and Education)
