Course Content
- Emergency care and risk response in high ropes environments
- Personal technical skills for high ropes activities
- Planning, preparing, and organising high ropes and high wire experiences
- Safety management systems for outdoor organisations
- Group management and leadership techniques
- Cultural and environmental responsibility (including local iwi and hapū protocols, Leave No Trace)
- Equipment inspection, maintenance, and safe use
- Instructional delivery and teaching methods for high ropes skills
- Rescue and retrieval procedures
- Facilitation, communication, and debriefing
- Training and mentoring other instructors (Level 6 only)
What you need to know first
Level 4: At least 10 days experience in high ropes/high wire (minimum 5 days as co-leader or assistant leader); each 'day' is 4 hours and may be made of multiple sessions.
