Graduates will be able to effectively evaluate emergency situations in abseiling contexts and take appropriate actions.

Participants will showcase competent personal abseiling techniques and ability to safely manage themselves and equipment.

Learners will create comprehensive outdoor activity plans covering logistics, safety, equipment, and group needs.
The Level 4 Abseil Leader qualification prepares individuals to independently lead group abseiling sessions in outdoor recreation settings. Graduates specialize in single pitch abseiling, including rescue skills, and learn to plan and manage safe, positive introductory experiences for participants. Content includes risk management, equipment care, environmental understanding, cultural awareness, and effective group leadership under an organization's safety management system.

At least 10 personal abseils at a minimum of three sites using own abseil setup
At least five days additional experience as a co-leader or assistant leader for group abseils
Sites must allow for simple participant management, use fixed anchors, and be approved by a Level 5 or Level 6 Instructor
Personal Safety setup must be simple using fixed anchors
Ground at abseil area base must be flat and hazard free
At least 10 personal abseils at a minimum of three sites using own abseil setup
