Learn how to professionally assess clients' blood pressure, body composition, endurance, aerobic fitness, and muscular strength.

Develop skills in prescribing safe, effective, and up-to-date exercise and resistance training programmes.

Gain practical experience in demonstrating exercises and spotting clients for safety.
The Certificate of Proficiency in Fitness Instructing at AUT equips students with the skills to assess and monitor client fitness, devise and deliver exercise programmes, and perform practical fitness assessments. This course is the second of three required to become a qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor. Focusing on the practical application of exercises—cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility—it prepares students for immediate roles as fitness instructors and for national/international REPS registration.
