Develop skills to assess and address typical injuries encountered in sporting environments.

Use frictional, trigger point, and myofascial release techniques appropriately in athlete care.

Confidently carry out basic muscle tests to inform massage interventions.
Sports Massage Advanced at AUT builds on skills acquired in introductory sports massage. Topics include common sporting injuries, muscle testing, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. The course emphasizes tissue repair, pain relief, and improving athlete performance. Practical, hands-on instruction prepares students to work with athletes and sports teams.
