Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
Hawke's Bay Campus, Napier
It will take a total of 17 weeks

Learn to establish environments that encourage participation and ensure the safety of all participants while coaching a chosen sport.

Develop the ability to model simple skills and apply general coaching principles and group management techniques to achieve performance outcomes.

Gain knowledge of warm up and cool down procedures and demonstrate basic injury prevention relevant to sport coaching.
The NZ Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3) provides you with the knowledge and skills to coach entry-level participants across various sports. You will learn to create safe and enjoyable environments, model skills, apply group management, support physical wellbeing, and give constructive feedback. The course includes practical coaching experience (minimum 100 hours) and prepares you for employment as an entry-level coach or further study in sport, recreation, and exercise.

Evidence of literacy and numeracy sufficient to study at this level and interpret/apply health and safety requirements
LNAAT or similar assessment may be required
