The Foundations Skills (Level 2) course at NZIS is an action-packed programme providing an introduction to the sport, recreation, and fitness industries. Learners build confidence, develop study and work-readiness skills, and gain experience through hands-on activities, campus gym sessions, field trips, and community projects. The course fosters personal growth, self-management, and cultural awareness in a fun, supportive environment, preparing graduates for entry-level employment or further study within sport and recreation.
What you need to know first
Aged at least 16 years old before the start of the course (15-year-olds with Ministry-approved school exemption may be eligible)
New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
