Apply key early childhood theories and approaches to promote the development and learning of children.

Observe, plan, implement and review culturally responsive learning experiences for mokopuna, infants, toddlers, and young children, using knowledge of the child, their whānau, Te Whāriki and supporting documents.
This certificate is designed for those aspiring to work in Aotearoa New Zealand's Early Childhood Education sector. The programme develops key competencies, practical skills and bicultural understanding needed to support professional educators. It provides a strong foundation in ECE theory, practice, and cultural responsiveness, while also preparing graduates for further study within the ECE field.
What you need to know first
Disclose any criminal convictions at enrolment and approve release of criminal history for work placement vetting.
Ability to complete one day per week of workplace practicum.
