Apply key early childhood theories and approaches to promote the development and learning of children.
Promote children's learning
Observe, plan, implement and review culturally responsive learning experiences for mokopuna, infants, toddlers, and young children, using knowledge of the child, their whānau, Te Whāriki and supporting documents.
Provide a safe and supportive environment
Create environments guided by community and government services, legislation, and regulatory requirements to ensure holistic well-being, safety, health, nutrition, and care of children and their whānau.

What you need to know first
Disclose any criminal convictions at enrolment and approve release of criminal history for work placement vetting.
Ability to complete one day per week of workplace practicum.
Attendance at an enrolment interview to determine suitability, literacy, and numeracy for Level 4 study.
