The Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning at AUT is designed for those with a bachelor’s degree seeking to become a qualified teacher specialising in either early childhood or primary/intermediate teaching. The course covers curriculum, educational theory and professional practice, along with extensive teaching practicums. It runs for one year full-time (or part-time) and is worth 150 points. Students gain hands-on teaching experience and learn about diversity, social justice, te reo me ngā tikanga Māori, and inclusive practice.
