Te Aho Tātairangi: Bachelor of Teaching and Learning Kura Kaupapa Māori is a specialised, three-year degree for future Māori educators who are competent speakers of Te Reo Māori. The programme prepares graduates for teaching and leadership roles within kura kaupapa Māori, Māori language immersion schools, and Māori medium classrooms. It meets the requirements for New Zealand teacher registration, emphasises Te Aho Matua teaching philosophy, and delivers courses entirely in Te Reo Māori. Students gain broad knowledge in kaupapa Māori pedagogy, Tikanga Māori, curriculum development, and professional teaching practice, culminating in professional eligibility for provisional registration as a teacher.
