In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
MIT Ōtara, Auckland
It will take a total of 3 years
Ability to implement and integrate Māori and Pacific teaching methods and worldviews into primary education settings.

Extensive training in real classroom environments through block practicums and school-based placements.
Minimum age 18 at programme start
English language competency (per Teaching Council requirements)
Meet requirements of Children’s Act 2014 (police vetting, referee reports, interview)
Satisfy minimum diagnostic literacy and numeracy assessments
Hold NZ University Entrance or recognised equivalent (under 20s) OR evidence of tertiary readiness
Health and criminal declarations
Ability to attend teaching practicum at specified times and places
