The Master of Teaching Early Childhood Education at Toi Ohomai enables those with an existing degree to become qualified to teach in early childhood settings in Aotearoa New Zealand. The 1.5-year programme blends academic coursework, practical placements in ECE centres (14+ weeks), and the development of professional skills and te reo Māori competence. Students explore curriculum design (Te Whāriki), teaching strategies, biculturalism, professional ethics, and practitioner inquiry. Graduates will be equipped for registration and leadership roles in the ECE field.
Entry Requirements
Bachelor’s degree at level 7 (at least 360 credits) OR Bachelor Honours degree at level 8 (at least 480 credits) OR Master’s degree at level 9 (at least 240 credits)
