Participants gain knowledge and critical understanding of relational and inclusive pedagogies, and curriculum responsive to children, whānau and communities.
The Master of Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) prepares graduates for impactful early childhood education careers. Designed for those holding a prior degree, this intensive, research-based, and practicum-focused programme develops strong theoretical and practical knowledge of child learning and teaching. With 11 core courses, including two practicum placements in early childhood centres, students benefit from expert staff and cohort-based learning. Graduates are eligible to apply for teacher registration and provisional certification with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. The programme is available full-time (one year) or part-time (two years) and is delivered at fixed times through a blend of on-campus courses and practicum placements.
