In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 8 weeks
This course requires 2 hours per week

Develop further proficiency in core ceramics techniques such as hand-building, wheel-throwing, glaze application, and firing.

Work on ceramic projects with guidance, building confidence in construction from previous experience.

Gain hands-on knowledge in studio safety, workflow, and proper use of ceramics-specific tools and materials.
The Ceramics Night Class at Otago Polytechnic’s Dunedin School of Art is designed for students with some previous ceramics experience who want to build on their skills in a supportive studio environment. Skills taught include hand-building, throwing on the wheel, glaze mixing and application, and some firing techniques. The course runs as a night class for one term at a time, with participants able to re-enrol for subsequent terms.
