The Introduction to Ceramics night class at Otago Polytechnic’s Dunedin School of Art emphasises hands-on experimentation with clay. No prior ceramic experience is needed, but students with some experience can work at a more advanced level. Practical workshops develop skills in hand-building, wheel throwing, glaze mixing and application, and firing. Tools are provided, but students may bring their own. Classes offer a safe and sociable learning environment, and are open to those aged 16 or over (parental consent required for under 16s). Enrolment is by term, with classes running in the evenings during each academic term.
Entry Requirements
Students must be over 16 years of age.
Learners under 16 require parental consent (via application tick-box and email).
